ROBERT ARMON

Robert A. Armon is a registered Architect, practicing and teaching in Colorado. He currently holds architectural licenses in seven states and is sole proprietor of a small firm in Denver with active residential, commercial and urban planning projects. Emphasis is placed on solar, sustainable, environmentally appropriate, and sacred principles for projects of any size.

He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois in 1971 and a Master of Architecture degree from the Cranbrook Academy in 1978. His two-year thesis topic was a study of Sacred Geometry and applications to architecture. Continued education has been through the Kairos School of Sacred Architecture and The Prince of Wales Institute of Architecture in special programs under the direction of Dr. Keith Critchlow.

Academy for Sacred Architectural Studies

In 1996 Robert founded the Academy for Sacred Architectural Studies with Dr. Phillip Tabb, currently professor and Director of Architecture at Texas A&M University. This nonprofit institute is dedicated to the remembering of the Sacred in art, craft and architecture with specific emphasis on methods of application. The Academy conducts seminars and workshops throughout the United States.

Educational Services

Robert has been teaching on a continued basis in colleges, institutes and universities in Colorado and New Mexico. He conducted the art, craft and architecture seminar/workshop of the Dar al Islam Summer Teachers’ Institute in Abiquiu, New Mexico for six years. He is currently the architect for the restoration and renovation of the mosque and teaching center at Dar al Islam. In addition to the application of sacred geometry in architecture, Robert also practices the sacred arts of Islamic tile geometry, Byzantine-Russian Orthodox icon painting, and Celtic knot design.
